Payment can be made by cheque, credit and debit card. On our site, credit and debit card payments are processed through PayPal. If you prefer, you are welcome to email or telephone your order to us.

PayPal stores your card or bank details and, when you buy online, you still use those cards, but via PayPal. It remembers your card or bank information, and safeguards the details for you so you don't have to keep typing them into websites, with the possibility of exposing your financial information. PayPal uses the highest level of data encryption, industry leading technology and fraud prevention tools to offer an advanced level of security.

We keep a small number of garments in stock. If the garment you have ordered is in stock it will be posted within a week of receiving your order and/or clearing your cheque. If the garment is not in stock we will knit it specially for you, and you should allow up to 28 days for it to arrive. If you need your order by a specific date just let us know. We’ll do our best to help, and we’ll let you know what we can do.

Dry cleaning is not necessary. To maintain the softness, quality and drape of the garment it should be carefully hand washed in warm water (approximately 30 deg C) using a gentle non-biological product. You should not use harsh detergents or those containing bleaches and/or optical whiteners, as these damage the fibres and reduce the intensity and quality of colours. Do not bleach.

Dark colours and all hand-dyed and denim yarns should be washed separately.

After washing, rinse well. Gently ease garment into shape while damp. Dry flat, away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry.

Denim yarns are designed to fade over time with washing and wearing. Denim dyes are less fixed than other dyes and when they are new, some of the colour may transfer onto light coloured fabrics in wear. Washing the garment before wearing it for the first time will help with this.

Standard delivery UK mainland delivery is included in the garment price. We use a Royal Mail service which usually takes 1 to 3 days from despatch to delivery to your door. A signature will be required on delivery. We don’t charge extra if your order is despatched in more than one parcel.

‘Insured guaranteed next day’ delivery If you choose to have your UK mainland delivery order sent using the Post Office’s insured, ‘guaranteed next day’ delivery service, we send you an email to advise you in advance of the day of despatch. Your package will be delivered the next business day before 1pm. A signature will be required on delivery. An additional charge of £6.40 will be charged - this covers up to four garments in one shipment. For orders of more than four garments please email for P&P details.

We want you to be delighted with your purchase and confident in buying from us. For this reason, we are happy to exchange or refund items if returned to us in perfect condition using the original packaging within 14 days of receipt. Unfortunately, we cannot refund or exchange used or customer damaged items (statutory rights not affected). Neither the original shipping/postage nor return postage are refundable.

Very important If you return goods to us, please use an insured method of despatch. It’s essential to obtain proof of posting as without this we cannot be responsible for any items that fail to reach us. Please be sure to include a copy of your purchase invoice/receipt and/or a note of your full name, full postal and email address, and your telephone number in the package.

We cannot refund P&P charges unless the garment is faulty.

We all have an idea of our size - usually based on where we buy our clothes. However, a size in one shop may be different from the same size in another. To order the right size, it’s best to measure yourself carefully when wearing your usual underwear, and compare the result against our size guide.

Our knitwear is pre-washed and won’t shrink or stretch with normal treatment. Garments of the same size will vary depending on the style as they will have more or less ‘ease’, but they will fit the size indicated.

If you have any queries or would like to discuss a custom size, please phone or email. We produce almost all of our orders ‘on demand’ and we can knit your size even if it is outside our usual range.

When you buy from or register with us, we ask for your name, email address, delivery address and other basic information. We keep a record of this information, together with a note of your purchases from us, so that we can deal promptly with any problems. We also keep a record of any e-mail correspondence you send us. This helps us keep track any problems or concerns you've had, and helps us to monitor and improve our products and services.

We will not pass on your details to any third party except as is necessary for the operation of our own mailing list. You may unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by sending an email request to susan@susanholtonknitwear.co.uk.

As we do not receive the bank, credit and/or debit card information which you enter via PayPal, we cannot and do not pass on such details to anyone for any reason.
